BLOGMAS 19 - 23 // WRAPPING GIFTS, COOKIES & BON JOVI

I saw a gorgeous lights display with my friends the other day. Snacked on some sweets for the time being.

Listened to some not-so Christmas tunes while wrapping gifts.

Snuggled up in my Doctor Who hoodie.

BLOGMAS 08 - 18 // SUGAR RUSH, THE CALL & SO DONE

I recently went thrift shopping the other day and got some cute deals! I'm thinking of making a post with outfit combos
with some of the pieces I bought.

Cornbread is love. Cornbread is life.

Secret Santa shopping went pretty well! They liked their gift and gave me a hug, so that worked out for me.
I had a bad sugar rush and crash that day! Like, really bad. I had 5 sugar-filled cupcakes, and ended up laying on my bed with my eyes wide open for at least an hour. So my advice to you: Don't get too crunk on sugar this year. I did catch up on some movies, and anime though. The Call with Halle Berry, and Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun are a couple I've been watching.
I'm just so done with school, and so ready for break.

BLOGMAS 05 - 07 | ESSAYS, FILMING & THE HOBBIT

Whew! I need to stop slacking on these posts so soon! After busting out my final paper for the pseo class I'm taking, I thought I'd relax a little. I needed a break! I snuggled up and watched The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug with a friend for the evening and chowed down on some food. Can't wait for the next movie to come out. I jumped on The Hobbit train pretty late, and I still haven't watched or read any of the Lord of the Rings series. In other news, a new speed paint is on the way, so be on the look out...

Btdubs, Thranduil is bae.

BLOGMAS 03 - 04 | SECRET SANTAS AND ESSAYS

Every year in band, we have the option to participate in Secret Santa, and so I did again. I don't know why I'm really lucky at drawing numbers for prizes, but once it comes to drawing names for S.Santa, I always luck out! If anyone knows of a good gift to give to a guy that you don't really talk to or know, let me know!

I finally started listening to Christmas songs yesterday-- thanks to iTunes Radio. Meanwhile, I was also trying to bust out an essay for post-sec that is due in less than 48 hours. So much for my procrastination resolution I made during new years... out the window!

Enjoy the pretty view of the moon I took a picture of last night!

BLOGMAS 01 - 02 | AND THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS

I was contemplating whether or not to join in on the Blogmas fun, and I finally decided: Yup, count me in! Cut me some slack though, since it will be my first time doing Blogmas, and I'm new to the whole thing ^^; ...

The first gift of the season I received was this pocket watch from my mom. I've been meaning to get a pocket watch for the longest time—I have a 'thing' for clocks! It was only $12.99 because of the special offer the store is having. I also switched out the chain part of the watch with some hemp cord to make it into a wearable necklace. Honestly, if you know anyone who is older and you are not sure what to get them, gift a pocket watch. It's a real classy gift if you ask me!

Lately, I've gotten back into the swing of things and have started back up on my visual novel projects. My hope is to have my first game out by new years, or sometime around then. All I can say is stay tuned and look forward to some sneak peeks soon...

THANKSGIVING LINNER

This year, it didn't really feel like Thanksgiving to me. It's weird to say that, but it felt really hollow sitting at the table this year. Maybe I was setting my hopes too high. Maybe not.

I'm thankful for a place to let out my thoughts, and having people who randomly happen to hear it and comment time to time.
I'm thankful for you.

GIRLS GO TO _______,TO GET MORE KNOWLEDGE

Today I thought I would do an advice post about taking college classes in high school.  Just as a heads up, this post is directed towards sophomores for their junior year and juniors for their senior year. If you're currently a freshman in highschool, don't click the x button yet, because this could be helpful resource later down the road, or if you know someone who might need to see this too! Just as a disclaimer: I am in no shape or form anyone who is an expert in all the things I am about to say, so everyone's scenario could be different! I happen to take a PSEO and I thought this would be a great way to share this information for people who are not familiar with this cool opportunity!

WHO SHOULD I TALK TO?
Your best bet would be to talk to your high school guidance counselor to see if this type of program is available. Sometimes guidance counselors have some great tools for students to use, and really help students excel, but you have take the initiative!

WHERE SHOULD I GO?
Try starting out at a local community college only because you may have a better chance of not feeling left out from both your high school (because you are away) or at the college (because you are not a full-time student). Plus, the cost of classes are probably more affordable if you have to pay for them yourself unless your school picks up the tab. I'm fortunate to have my high school pay for the cost as long as I keep my grades high!

WHAT IS IT LIKE?
I can't speak for every college's high school programs, but I will say this... At a community college you can expect to see people from different ages, and I mean the whole lot! You may see people as young as you are, or newly high school grads all the way up to the age of someone who may have a younger grandmother in their late forties-- not to say anyone could not be older or younger than this. Don't let this discourage you or fill you up with pride because you all made it there and you are all there to learn!

Most classes are structured in a form of a lecture by a professor. During all the classes I have taken so far, the professor had notes on a screen for us to copy in addition to a text book we had follow on our own time. I could do another post later, going in depth with the specifics*

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME?
I would definitely recommend starting off with one class at the start of your Junior year, and see if you want to add more your senior year.

And if you're like me, whereas: you can't drive yet, or you don't want to miss high school classes, or get stuck with evening classes = try a weekend class. The other option is an online class or a hybrid class.

WHY SHOULD I DO THIS?
It will save you and/or your parents money in the long run during college, allowing extra study time freshman year, more time to hang out with your friends, and space for other classes to try.

I hope this was helpful!

OCTOBER BABBLE: SENIORITIS

Three months. It has been about three months since I wrote my last Monthly Babble. To you it may not seem like much, but to me it sorta does. In fact, everything feels sorta ready, or sorta done all the time. Its my senior year, and all I want to do is wake up, eat some food, watch some videos and anime, read a book on a good day, and go right back to sleep. Unfortunately, I have to get up, drag myself to brush my teeth, take a shower, fix my hair, eat breakfast (if I have enough time), before rushing out the door to make to school early. When reading this back to myself, I sound like a really lazy person. And I sorta do...
This is where I want to put my foot down. Instead of sorta living I want to thrive. I want to regain all the passion I received from doing the things I love to do. I miss it all. I keep telling myself, "There isn't enough time in the day," but the fact is there are 24 hours in a whole day to do anything. I'm blessed to not have something limiting me or slowing me down except myself. I still have one more quarter in school to make the most a different in my grades and my class rank, but I don't want to feel like I'm killing myself while working hard.
I want to live.
